Lake Hvitarvatn
Lake Hvitarvatn is a magnificent lake next to Langjokull glacier in the Highlands of Iceland.
The lake is located 45 km northeast of Gullfoss waterfall. Its surface is about 30 km² and its greatest depth is 84 m.

Sailing on the lake
Take a boat ride on lake Hvitarvatn.
We offer two types of boats. One boat is an inflatable boat and can carry up to 8 people and the other boat is an aluminium boat that can carry up to 40 people.
You will board the boat and sail a sightseeing tour around the lake. We will stop at Langjokull glacier and take a short stop and look at the glacier.
Langjokull glacier
The second largest ice cap in Iceland. Lake Hvitarvatn is next to the glacier and the scenery is beautiful.
You can take a day tour with us and see the glacier and its magnificent surroundings.
You can take a hike on the glacier and the view from there is fantastic.
The surroundings
The highlands of Iceland are a magical place. Glaciers, hot springs, geysers, volcanoes and glacier lakes. This is a place you will enjoy visiting and exploring.
The Highlands of Iceland cover most of the interior of Iceland. They are situated 400–500 metres above sea level, and are mostly a volcanic desert.

We pick you up at Gullfoss waterfall. Then we drive Kjolur mountain road to the Highlands of Iceland. We drive a mountain road, we sail on Hvitarvatn lake and we take a short glacier hike on Langjokull glacier. A great experience.

You drive to lake Hvitarvatn and meet us there. You will drive Kjolur mountain road and you need a 4WD vehicle to drive in the Highlands of Iceland. We sail on Hvitarvatn lake and we take a short glacier hike on Langjokull glacier.
